@RT4Men: not quite. this isn't a supercar. they have different markets. it's like saying dell mini netbook is poor man's macbook pro. They are ment to satisfy two different clients. both in technical needs and price.

you are thinking of 1970's rust buckets they used to make. Fiat owns Ferrari these days , but i'd still buy a BMW owned mini first. IT's- "FIx It Again Tony"but then so is any italian brand automobile or motorcycle, they are pretty to look at but dangerously expensive to drive.
