I live right by the original store and his home!! We had a day in my leadership group where we spent time talking to him and touring everything.
I was so lucky to find a bag almost exactly like this in a "mercatino" outside of Milan. I think I paid about 30 euros for it. It is one of my favorite possessions. Despite it being a bit cumbersome when full, it makes me feel chic when I travel with it.
Is there a name for this particular style of bag?
